The main objective of the joint drills between the Russian Navy and the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy was to strengthen naval ties between the two countries, with the overall goal of maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, a spokesman for Russia's Pacific Fleet told reporters on Sunday.About 20 combat exercises were conducted, including live-fire training on various types of targets. The main objective of the joint drills between the Russian Navy and the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy was to strengthen naval ties between the two countries, with the overall goal of maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, a spokesman for Russia's Pacific Fleet told reporters on Sunday.
"The Russia-China naval exercises North. Interaction 2023, which were held from July 20 through 23, ended in the Sea of Japan. […] Upon completion, Russian and Chinese warships headed for Vladivostok," the spokesman said.
About 20 combat exercises were conducted, including live-fire training on various types of targets. The exercises also included practicing joint anti-submarine warfare and naval combat operations, escorting ships at sea and in the air, protecting and defending groups of ships at anchor in an open roadstead, and ensuring the safety of communications in the waters and airspace of the Sea of Japan.
