The Iranian commitment was expressed at a meeting between Malian Minister of Communication Alhamdou Ag Ilyene and Iranian ambassador Hossein Taleshi Salehani earlier this week. The meeting was held with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Iran and Mali, focusing on the telecommunications and digital sectors.
The Malian Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy announced Iran's willingness to train Malian specialists in fields such as communications, telecommunications, cybersecurity and 5G, following a meeting between the Malian Minister of Communication and the Iranian ambassador in Mali's capital Bamako.
A number of projects were announced, including the creation of an innovation center in Mali and capacity building for Mali's national television station.
The creation of an innovation center in Mali and the reinforcement of Malian television's capacities were also on the menu.

Reciprocal visits by heads of diplomacy

Digital technology is a new area of cooperation between Bamako and Tehran.
Their rapprochement reached a new stage in 2022, when Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop visited Tehran in February and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian visited Bamako in August.
The areas of security, the fight against terrorism, health, higher education, scientific research, technology, agriculture and livestock breeding were discussed.
