French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France has decided to transfer long-range missiles to Kiev to "support" the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive.
France's plans to hand over long-range missiles to Ukraine is an erroneous decision fraught with consequences for Kiev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Of course, it remains to be clarified and determined exactly what radius we are talking about. This, from our point of view, is an erroneous decision, fraught with consequences for the Ukrainian side, because, naturally, it will force us to take countermeasures," Peskov told a briefing.

He emphasized that this would not affect the course of Russia's special operation in Ukraine, but "could only aggravate the plight of the Kiev regime."
Peskov also commented on the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, saying that the bloc's countries demonstrate "a strong anti-Russian attitude."
"Definitely, we are talking about the summit of the association, which has a pronounced concentrated anti-Russian nature. Russia is also perceived by them as an enemy, as an adversary, and it is in this vein that discussions will be conducted," Peskov told reporters," adding that Moscow "is closely following" the summit.

The NATO summit will be hosted by the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on July 11-12 and will bring together leaders of all the alliance countries.
Earlier, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine would not become a NATO member at the upcoming summit.
On June 19, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that in Vilnius and in preparation for the summit, the allies were not considering a formal invitation to Ukraine, but were holding consultations on what decisions would bring Kiev closer to joining the alliance.
