Russia exported a record amount of grain in the 2022 agricultural year — 60 million tonnes, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Friday.Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations struck a deal to provide a humanitarian maritime corridor for ships with food and fertilizer exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports on July 22, 2022. Moscow has since agreed to several extensions to the grain deal, also known as the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which is now due to expire in mid-July, but complained that its memorandum component has not been fully implemented, with the part, which stipulates the easing of sanctions in order to allow Russian agricultural exports, being ignored by the West.At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister has recently pointed out that there is no sense in prolonging the deal, outlining that the world's poorest nations received just a little less than 2.5% of the deal's grain.Earlier this week, Russian Foreign Ministry stated on its website that despite the deal's meaningless, Russia is still a participatory to the initiative and does everything in compliance with its obligations.

Russia Exported Record 60Mln Tonnes of Grain in 2022 Agricultural Year
Russia entered the top 20 world food exporters for 2022, ranking 17th, the Russian Federal Center for the Development of Exports of Agricultural Products (Agroexport) stated, citing ITC Trade Map data as of June 5.
Russia exported a record amount of grain in the 2022 agricultural year — 60 million tonnes, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Friday.
"If we talk about exports, then in the 2022-2023 agricultural season, we exported an absolutely unprecedented, record-breaking amount of grain — 60 million tonnes," Patrushev told reporters, adding that export earnings amounted to over $41 billion.
Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations struck a deal to provide a humanitarian maritime corridor for ships with food and fertilizer exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports on July 22, 2022.
Moscow has since agreed to several extensions to the grain deal, also known as the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which is now due to expire in mid-July, but complained that its memorandum component has not been fully implemented, with the part, which stipulates the easing of sanctions in order to allow Russian agricultural exports, being ignored by the West.
At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister has recently pointed out that there is no sense in prolonging the deal, outlining that the world's poorest nations received just a little less than 2.5% of the deal's grain.
Earlier this week, Russian Foreign Ministry
stated on its website that despite the deal's meaningless, Russia is still a participatory to the initiative and does everything in compliance with its obligations.
"Under these circumstances, it is clear that there are no grounds for further continuation of the 'Black Sea Initiative', which expired on July 17. At the same time, the Russian side keeps taking its obligations as a party to the arrangement in good faith and responsibly, making the necessary efforts in strict compliance with the rules of procedure so that all participating vessels can successfully complete their mission and leave the Black Sea before it expires," the ministry stated.
