South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has reportedly invited his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi to the BRICS+ meeting in South Africa's Johannesburg in August.Earlier this week, South Africa's Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor revealed the information to her Iranian colleague Hossein Amir Abdollahian over the phone, according to Iranian media.The news outlet noted that during the phone call, Abdollahian stated that Tehran is prepared for a comprehensive expansion of bilateral relations and is open to holding a joint commission meeting with South Africa.In addition, the Iranian minister added that the date for the meeting of the joint economic commission between the two nations was determined.The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that his country is ready to forge full diplomatic relations with South Africa and mentioned his fruitful conversations with Pandor after the "Friends of BRICS" conference held in Cape Town in early June.
