Two Zambian politicians visited Russia to attend the SPIEF last week and your host, Viktor Anokhin, took the opportunity to get their perspective on major pressing topics on the international agenda, such as the role of BRICS, anti-Russian sanctions, the African peace initiave and the Ukrainian crisis among other things.
The African peace initiative highlights the continent's neutrality, as "Africa has seen that the USA and Europe are active participants in this conflict," according to Lubinda Haabazoka, director of the Graduate School of Business of the University of Zambia.Meanwhile, the West is a hypocrite when it "is talking about peace, but they supply more and more weapons to Ukraine," said Akende M'membe Chundama, chairwoman of the Socialist Party of Zambia, while discussing the African Peace Initiative on Ukrainian crisis settlement. She explained that the US, for example, would have reacted the same way Russia has if a third country were to "put any weapons or missiles on the border of Canada or the border of Mexico."For more details, check out the entire episode of the AfroVerdict podcast brought to you by Sputnik Africa. In addition to the website, you can also catch our episodes on Telegram.► You can likewise listen to our podcast on Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Castbox, Pocket Casts, Deezer, Podcast Addict and Afripods► Check out all the episodes of AfroVerdict

"It is because they [the US] try to secure the peace and the protection of their people the same way. They should not be hypocrites," she elaborated.
