The pipeline's operator, Nord Stream AG, said that the damage was unprecedented and that it was impossible to estimate the time repairs might take.Denmark, Germany, and Norway have left Russia out of their investigations into the attack, prompting Moscow to launch its own investigation over a charge of international terrorism. No official results of the investigations have yet been announced, but Pulitzer Prize-winning US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published a report in February 2023 alleging that the explosions had been organized by the United States with the support of Norway. Washington has denied any involvement in the incident.

Watch: New Video of Damaged Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Filmed by Underwater Drone
14:16 21.06.2023 (Updated: 10:49 03.08.2023) Three of the four strands of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, leading from Russia to Germany, were damaged by explosions at the end of September 2022.
New footage of the explosion-damaged Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, filmed using an underwater
drone, has been published by a German media outlet.
Media suggest that Nord Stream 2 was damaged by a small explosive device, as the explosion affected it much less than Nord Stream 1. The second pipeline shows no sign of major damage, as the pipe is relatively "neatly" broken in one place.
"There is no shrapnel lying next to the broken pipeline. Nor does it show any serious damage," a reporter commented. "At a depth of 80 meters, Nord Stream 2 is currently in much the same condition as it was initially, with just one crack separating it in two and one half slightly elevated above the other."
The expedition in question was undertaken by an international team consisting of experts and journalists from Germany, France, and Denmark, in addition to a Norwegian specializing in underwater investigations as well as an expert from the Danish secret service.
The Nord Stream pipelines, built to deliver gas under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany, were hit by explosions in September 2022. The pipeline's operator, Nord Stream AG, said that the damage was unprecedented and that it was impossible to estimate the time repairs might take.
Denmark, Germany, and Norway have left Russia out of their investigations into the attack, prompting Moscow to launch its own investigation over a charge of international terrorism.
No official results of the investigations have yet been announced, but Pulitzer Prize-winning US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published a report in February 2023 alleging that the explosions had been organized by the United States with the support of Norway. Washington has denied any involvement in the incident.
