The security services of Burkina Faso are offering a reward of up to $300,000 for information leading to the capture or death of figures on a terrorist wanted list.The list published by authorities in the media is accompanied by portraits of jihadists "actively wanted for participation or complicity in the planning or conduct of terrorist acts," with the reward for each person ranging from $164,000 to $295,000.The biggest rewards accrue for Sahel-based al-Qaeda*-affiliated Sidibe Dramane and Diallo Moussa from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims* (JNIM). Authorities have offered $295,000 for information that leads to their capture.The roster also includes leaders of numerous katiba (combat units of jihadist groups), namely, Diko Hamadoum and Bolli Oumarou, whose heads are priced at $278,000 each.In the past months, notably since the beginning of the year, Burkina Faso has seen an increase in jihadist activity, resulting in the deaths of several dozen soldiers and civilians. "If you provide information, such as to allow the arrest or the neutralization of one of these individuals, you will receive the amount indicated on the photo of the concerned," the Ministry of Security specified, adding numbers for contact.
The biggest rewards accrue for Sahel-based al-Qaeda*-affiliated Sidibe Dramane and Diallo Moussa from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims* (JNIM). Authorities have offered $295,000 for information that leads to their capture.
