Sputnik’s estimates based on statistical data from 193 UN member countries show that in early spring, inflation slowed in 102 nations.Bahrain even experienced deflation amounting to 0.1% year-on-year in March.Out of a total of 102 countries where inflation has fallen, the most dramatic decline occurred in South Sudan (-12.1%), Ghana (-7.8%), Russia (-7.5 %), Belarus (-5.7%), and in both Zimbabwe and Turkiye (-4.7%).Regarding Zimbabwe, even in spite of this drop, its rate of 87.6% is third in the world behind Lebanon and Argentina. Ghana is also one of the countries where price hikes are among the highest (45%).Two African countries where inflation is on the riseMeanwhile, price hikes were recorded in March in 34 countries, with Lebanon’s 74.2% rate topping the list.Inflation was on the rise in Burundi (4.6%), Pakistan (3.9%) and Ethiopia (2.2%).That said, the pace remained unchanged in two African countries (Kenya and Namibia), as well as in East Timor and Mongolia.The study was conducted by Sputnik based on data from the statistical services of 193 UN member countries. The final sample includes 142 states that released March data early in that month.Sputnik’s calculations showed that with inflation of 3.5% year-on-year in the month of March, Russia occupied the 102nd spot in the world in terms of price increases. At the onset of spring, only three countries experienced a more subdued increase: Switzerland and Liechtenstein (2.9%) as well as Spain (3.3%).

decline occurred in South Sudan (-12.1%), Ghana (-7.8%), Russia (-7.5 %), Belarus (-5.7%), and in both Zimbabwe and Turkiye (-4.7%).
