The spite which the United States directs against Russia, is inexplicable, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said.According to Ryabkov, relations between Russia and the United States are on the verge of collapse although Moscow is working to keep them from deteriorating into full-fledged war.Ryabkov stressed that the restraint, calmness and responsible nature of Moscow's statements send a signal to the international community that Russia will not advance relations with the United States into the abyss of open direct war, but will also do everything to protect its territorial integrity and the security of its citizens. The relations between Moscow and Washington, which have significantly worsened in the past decade, became even chillier after the launch of Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine. The US and its allies responded with an unprecedented slew of sanctions against Russia, hordes of weapons to Ukraine, and all the while maintaining they had nothing to do with the conflict. On 14 May 2021, the Government of Russia, headed by Mikhail Mishustin, published a document, which included a list of foreign countries committing unfriendly actions against Russia. At the moment, the list of unfriendly countries includes the United States (which has been on the list from the start), the United Kingdom (including its overseas territories that supported anti-Russia sanctions), the countries of the European Union and other US allies.

US Hatred Of Russia 'Inexplicable', Says Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister
11:59 05.05.2023 (Updated: 10:48 03.08.2023) US-Russia relations, which have cooled considerably in the past decade, worsened even further after the beginning of Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine. Washington and its allies responded to Russia's actions with an unprecedented amount of sanctions as well as supplies of weapons to Ukraine.
The spite which the United States directs against Russia,
is inexplicable, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said.
"I want to emphasize: it is inexplicable how much spite and hatred Washington shows to Russia when, by and large, the moment has come to think about its own security, and not only about what is happening on the battlefields in Ukraine and on the territory of the new subjects of the Russian Federation. To think not only about how to 'consolidate' the Western camp even more on the anti-Russian, and anti-Chinese side, but to focus on more pressing things," Ryabkov told Russian reporters.
According to Ryabkov, relations between Russia and the United States are on the verge of collapse although Moscow is working to keep them from deteriorating into full-fledged war.
"We are working to keep relations with the United States from falling into the abyss of an open, armed conflict. We are already standing on the brink, on the edge of this abyss," he said.
Ryabkov stressed that the restraint, calmness and responsible nature of Moscow's statements send a signal to the international community that Russia will not advance relations with the United States into the abyss of open direct war, but will also
do everything to protect its territorial integrity and the security of its citizens.
"We are literally ready to use all the means at our disposal to ensure that no one is allowed to carry out attacks on the security of the country, attacks on the security of the president, the political leadership," he emphasized.
The relations between Moscow and Washington, which have
significantly worsened in the past decade, became even chillier after the launch of Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine.
