MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The West actually admits that it cannot exist without Russia's natural resources, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.
"The United States and its European clients, without any discomfort, allow themselves to promote in international organizations ideas about the use of Russia's water resources by all states of the planet. They shamelessly juggle with data that fresh water reserves in Russia allegedly have nothing to do with the population size and the country's economic activity," Patrushev said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.
He said biased Western scientists and politicians categorically state that only the countries of the collective West have the right to dispose of the natural resources available in the world, and Russia allegedly received them unfairly.
"By such statements, the West actually admits that it cannot do without Russia's natural resources," Patrushev said.
Moreover, Patrushev touched upon the matter of the freezing of Russian assets. The way West froze Russia's financial assets in recalls the case when England had seized the Russian Empire's gold 100 years ago, the Russian politician outlined.

"When blocking Russia's financial assets, the Anglo-Saxons use patterns tested by England back in the 1920s, when London shamelessly seized the Russian Empire's gold reserves," he noted.

Russia's Special Operation in Ukraine
US Simply Makes Up Numbers of Casualties in Special Operation, Kremlin Says
After the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, Western countries have imposed a number of tough sanctions on Russia, including the freezing of nearly half of the country's foreign currency reserves – about $300 billion.
The Russian Empire during the First World War needed money to pay for military purchases. England agreed to provide a loan, but only on the security of gold and on the condition that it be sent to the British Isles. In October 1914, the first delivery of the precious cargo took place. And over the next three years, eight times more was sent, overall, 300 tonnes of gold.
For all four years of World War I, London constantly changed its credit policy. When things were not going well for the Triple Entente on the front, England transferred money to Russia. But when the situation improved, it stopped the payment of loans. According to experts, the British did not want Russia to emerge victorious from that war.
London fulfilled its obligations only by a few percent, and Russian gold remained in the UK. In 1922, the Bolsheviks tried to negotiate with London to return the gold, but to no avail.

Patrushev also elaborated on the current state of affairs in Europe and the US. The official stated that Germany, having completely abandoned its nuclear power industry – a reliable and environmentally friendly source of electricity – thereby deprives its economy of energy-intensive production.
In April, Germany stopped the operation of the last three power units of nuclear power plants in the country – Isar II, Neckarwestheim II and Emsland. Initially, Berlin was believed to abandon nuclear power industry in 2022, but plans were later changed.

"By promoting the reduction of generating capacities, the German leadership is depriving the national economy of energy-intensive production. Renewable energy sources, which European officials rely on, will not be able to completely replace the energy generated by nuclear power plants," Patrushev stated.

He said nuclear power industry is an environmentally friendly way of power generation.

"Nuclear power industry is not just a reliable source of electricity, but also one of the most environmentally friendly ways of generation," he said.

Moreover, Patrushev stated that the deepest decline of modern European politics is clearly seen in the example of the Munich Security Conference, whose participants only read to each other US training manuals.

"European politics today is in the deepest moral and intellectual decline. A vivid example is the Munich Security Conference, where Western politicians gather only to read each other State Department manuals," Patrushev said.

By creating NATO mechanisms for its own needs, the United States actually occupied Europe, he said.

"Put in a position of hopelessness, European officials have turned the Old World into an economic base for American experiments, obediently fulfill NATO's military tasks. And the Pentagon-controlled NATO command interacts directly with arms manufacturers, simply ignoring the official authorities of other countries," he also stated.

The official has also stated that irreconcilable differences between US elites have become the cause of severe instability and uncontrollability of political processes in the United States.
"Internal political processes in the US are becoming turbulent and uncontrollable due to irreconcilable differences between elites, corporations and power structures," Patrushev said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.
In this regard, he noted that more and more Americans would like to obtain Russian citizenship and permanently reside in Russia because Moscow protects the moral values long trampled on in the United States.
According to Patrushev, more and more Americans want to obtain Russian citizenship and permanently reside in Russia.
“Do not forget that in the United States, as in other unfriendly countries, there are many citizens who are positive toward Russia. Respectable Americans and Europeans may well ignore Washington's anti-Russian propaganda, come to our country and become citizens of the Russian Federation, if they comply with Russian legislation and respect our culture," Patrushev said in an interview with Russian media.
The official also outlined that most of the ones, who are eager to move to Russia and live there are Christians.
"By the way, the number of people wishing to choose Russia as their permanent place of residence is growing. Most of them are deeply believing Christians to whom the moral and ethical values, protected in Russia but long trampled on in America, are close in spirit," he said.
