Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will begin an international tour on April 29, during which he will visit four African countries and Singapore.

The visit is aimed to strengthen the solidarity of the G7 - which Japan is chairing this year - and African countries in solving the energy and food crisis. The series of visits comes ahead of this year's G7 summit in Hiroshima on 19 to 21 May. The visit to Egypt will begin on 30 April. Kishida is expected to meet with the Egyptian president, where the sides will exchange views on politics, security, education, and also discuss support for the introduction of Japanese businesses into the Egyptian market. Japan insists that it considers Egypt as a key player in the Middle East and in Africa's stability. He is then due to visit Ghana where the top officials will discuss economic topics, especially expanding Japanese companies in the country. In Kenya, the Prime Minister is expected to discuss the situation in Sudan, the opportunity to educate personnel for industry, and the establishment of an "industrial dialogue". In Mozambique, Kishida will discuss the prospects of the largest liquefied natural gas project, one of the largest in Africa, which should contribute to energy security issues. The trip will conclude with a visit to Singapore, which is an economic, technological and financial center in Asia and, furthermore, the only ASEAN country that supports anti-Russian sanctions. The sides will discuss the concept of building a "free and open Indo-Pacific region" and ASEAN's view of it, as well as to ensure cooperation with regard to Ukraine, the East and South China Seas and North Korea. This year, the G7 presidency has been assumed by Japan. Its key summit will be the first one hosted by Kishida. The summit will take place over three days from 19 May in the city of Hiroshima, the prime minister's constituency.

The visit is aimed to strengthen the solidarity of the G7 - which Japan is chairing this year - and African countries in solving the energy and food crisis. The series of visits comes ahead of this year's G7 summit in Hiroshima on 19 to 21 May.
