The Typhoon family of armored vehicles are highly reliable and maneuverable and provide the right throughput, enabling them to go in waters as deep as 1.5 meters without prior preparation and climb slopes with an angle of 30 degrees.
Russia's state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, is seeking out foreign markets to promote its Typhoon-K armored vehicle, manufactured entirely from domestically produced components, said Director General Alexander Mikheev.
Mikheev described the advantages of the Russian armored vehicle of the Typhoon-K family in the company's press release.
"This vehicle has proven itself as a reliable and highly protected personnel carrier. The Typhoon-K is in service with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and has already confirmed its characteristics in real operational and combat conditions," Mikheev was quoted in the release. "In addition, many of Rosoboronexport's partners operate combat vehicles based on this family of vehicles and give them positive reviews."
According to him, the armored vehicle has been stirring a flurry of interest across countries of the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region and in the post-Soviet space.
"Independence from foreign components in the production of the Typhoon-K gives us and our partners confidence in timely and complete after-sales service of the delivered machines, their modernization and development," the head of 'Rosoboronexport' stressed.
Earlier, Mikheev stated that enterprises that are part of the Russian military-industrial complex did not break a single export contract in 2022 despite the ongoing sanctions against Moscow.
According to the manufacturer, the Typhoon-K model K-53949 accelerates up to 100 km/h thanks to its new-generation, 350-hp diesel engine. The high protection is provided by combined armor, including an armored hull and additional armor plates with ceramic elements, as well as by a streamlined body design and removable mine-resistant trays.
In addition, the constructors envisaged an option to install additional protection - internal bullet-proof shields, as well as specially hinged mats to provide increased protection from anti-tank grenade launchers.
