The XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place from June 18 to 21, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and business executives to discuss the future of economic development. This year’s theme, “Shared Values: The Foundation for Growth in a Multipolar World,” underscores the importance of cooperation in an increasingly complex international landscape.
As in past editions, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to address the forum’s plenary session on June 20.
SPIEF 2025 will feature around 150 sessions, organized around five key pillars: “The Global Economy: A New Platform for Global Growth,” “The Russian Economy: A New Level of Growth,” “The Individual in a New World,” “The Living Environment,” and “Technology: Pursuing Leadership.”
The forum will also host a range of specialized formats, including thematic zones, platforms for small and medium-sized businesses, and dedicated events such as the SPIEF Academy and SPIEF Junior.
A key highlight will be the 19 international business dialogues, covering economic cooperation between Russia and regions including Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the European Union. Countries participating in bilateral discussions include Bahrain, Brazil, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, the UAE, and others. A special dialogue between the EAEU and ASEAN will also be held.
In a nod to the next generation, SPIEF will include the Day of the Future International Youth Economic Forum, aimed at fostering youth engagement in global economic issues.
This year’s guest country is the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Beyond the business agenda, SPIEF will offer a rich cultural and sporting program. The St. Petersburg Seasons festival will present historical and documentary exhibitions at Sheremetev Palace and Manege, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in World War II. Attendees can also enjoy theatrical performances.
Sports enthusiasts can look forward to the “Fight and Win” charity run, along with Roscongress-organized tournaments in hockey, tennis, basketball, golf, squash, and more. A highlight of the athletic events will be the Russia vs. World Boxing Team match, along with a segment of the Russian Padel Tour.
