Responding to US accusations, Abbas Mohamed Bakhit, the head of the Sudanese delegation at the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow, condemned what he called a familiar pattern of false claims.
“They accused Iraq during the regime of Saddam, and they were also accusing Gaddafi,” he told Sputnik Africa.
The official emphasized that Sudan’s Armed Forces are professional and committed to the ethics of war.
Furthermore, he agreed with recent remarks of Russian FM Lavrov on the International Criminal Court's double game.
“We agree with His Excellency's [Lavrov’s] speech on the ICC… there is no any positive step against using the militia, or the militia atrocities against the civil Sudanese people,” he stated.
The official added that Sudan "is not part of the International Criminal Court," or the Rome Statute.
"We are encouraging the international community to be just and to be fair in using this forum [ICC] in the world," he concluded.
