Myanmar Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 1,700, Media Reports

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, with tremors felt in Bangladesh, India, Laos, China and Thailand. A number of countries, including Russia and Belarus, have been assisting Myanmar with relief efforts, including by sending rescue teams.

The number of deaths from the earthquake in Myanmar has increased to approximately 1,700, with 3,400 people injured, media reported.
