African Countries Await Resumption of Black Sea Grain Initiative, Algerian Expert Says

African countries are extremely interested in reviving the Black Sea grain initiative, which will be a chance to strengthen food security on the continent, Fares Habbache, professor of economics at Ferhat Abbas University, Algeria, told Sputnik.
Lifting sanctions on Russian grain exports will solidify Russia's position as Africa's primary food supplier, he said, recalling Russia's 2024 donation of 200,000 tonnes of grain to several African nations.
