Negotiations between the Russian and US delegations in Riyadh were interesting, difficult, but quite constructive, Grigory Karasin, the head of the Russian upper house's foreign affairs committee and the Russian delegation head, told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"A very interesting, difficult, but quite constructive conversation with the US expert team took place. We sat all day from morning until late at night," Karasin said.
There is an understanding that the sides need to actively interact on issues related to the Ukrainian crisis, the top negotiator pointed out.

"Another issue is that the positions [on Ukraine] do not always coincide, to put it mildly, but we will look for a form of interaction. Such an opportunity has appeared," he noted.

The Russian official also did not rule out that the talks between expert groups of Russia and the United States could continue, and added that it is "quite likely."
