According to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel launched massive air strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas political bureau member Izzat al-Risheq said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to return to war means a death sentence for the Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.
"Netanyahu's decision to return to war is a decision to sacrifice the prisoners of [Israel's] occupation and sentence them to death," al-Risheq said.

The death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night had exceeded 326, according to the ministry of health, with hundreds injured.
