Unilateral sanctions against Zimbabwe and Russia "were, are, and shall be illegal," Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Amon Murwira told Sputnik Africa.
"Unilateral [...] means that when you have accumulated a certain economic and military power, you can't use it to bully others outside of the mechanism of the United Nations," Murwira said.
The minister called for a return to the "operation of international law" and to behave "according to the Charter of the United Nations" as a multilateral mechanism for solving global problems.
Earlier, Murwira and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov signed a declaration on countering unilateral sanctions.
