Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov paid a working visit to the Central African Republic, during which agreements were reached on expanding cooperation in the defense and economic spheres, the Russian Embassy in Bangui said.
"On Saturday, Russia's Deputy Defense Minister Army Gen. Yunus-Bek Yevkurov paid a working visit to Bangui. The Russian deputy defense minister was received by CAR President Faustin Archange Touadera and held detailed talks with CAR Minister of National Defense and Army Reconstruction Claude Rameau Biraud," the diplomatic mission said on Telegram.
The Russian side confirmed its commitment to continue assisting the people of the CAR in strengthening security in the country, the diplomatic mission noted.
"Agreements were reached on expanding cooperation in the defense and economic spheres," the embassy concluded.
