Russia, China Have Similar Approaches to Key International, Regional Issue: Russian Security Council

BEIJING (Sputnik) - Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu arrived in Beijing on Friday to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the press service of the Russian Security Council reported.

Russia and China have similar approaches to key international and regional issues, Sergey Shoigu said on Friday.

"I would like to especially note that I arrived in hospitable China on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin following his telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on February 24. The fact that our meeting was agreed upon in such a short time is evidence of the special nature of the bilateral dialogue," Shoigu said at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Russia and China have similar approaches to key international and regional issues, the official said, adding that the countries take unanimous positions within the UN and its Security Council, the G20, APEC and other structures.
