Sustainable development policy can be built through art and culture, said Senegal's Minister of Culture Khady Diène during the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) in Burkina Faso.
"It is on the cultural foundation that we can build the development, awareness, and progress of our continent," said Togolese Culture Minister Kossi Lamadokou.
Diène added that culture is also essential to supporting young people, emphasizing that they need to use different cultures as a compass.
The ministers, along with their Burkinabe and Malian counterparts, as well as the secretary general of the Nigerien minister of culture, met on February 24 as part of the cinematographic event to greet the president of Burkina Faso.
