Burkina Faso's athlete Iron Biby, whose real name is Cheick Ahmed al-Hassan Sanou, was awarded the "Best African Athlete of the Year 2024" trophy in Ouagadougou on Friday.
"Today, you are proud to raise the flag of Burkina Faso to the top of African sports. You embody hope not only for the youth of Burkina Faso, but also for an entire generation that sees you as living proof that everything is possible through hard work and determination," Burkina Faso's Minister of Sports, Roland Somda said, presenting the award to the athlete.
