Chad's President Mahamat Idriss Déby and his Burkinabe counterpart Ibrahim Traoré met in Ouagadougou during Déby's friendly visit to discuss the future of their countries.
The two leaders discussed in particular:
The quest for true sovereignty;
The fight against neocolonialism;
The development of genuine endogenous capacities in strategic areas;
Security challenges.
Traoré and Déby "welcomed the quality of the centuries-old relations of friendship, fraternity, and cooperation" that bind their countries, according to the media.
The heads of state agreed to speed up the establishment of a joint cooperation commission.
The Chadian president also invited his counterpart to visit Chad.
