The US, with its record funding for the DRC, is a real sponsor of violence in the country's east, coordinator of the Panafrican Emergency Movement in the DRC Fortifi Lushima told Sputnik Africa.

"We know how the US imperialists work. Everyone knows that the Americans are actively involved in what is happening in [North] Kivu; it is an open secret," Lushima emphasized.

The West's strategy is the one "of a fireman pyromaniac," the Pan-Africanist explained.
The US strategy "is to plunder Congo's minerals with the support of Paul Kagame's Rwandan army," he added.
