"Relations are developing confidently and successfully. Of course, Egypt's accession to BRICS from January 1, 2024, gave a new impetus to their development, also because Russia was the BRICS chair in 2024, and one of the main goals of the Russian chairmanship was precisely to involve new members in the formats of cooperation previously developed in BRICS," Borisenko said.
"Within the BRICS, we are actively working on creating new payment mechanisms. Egypt is fully involved in these processes, as it is also interested in developing its foreign trade," the diplomat added.
"We expect that, if everything goes as planned, the nuclear power plant should be fully operational by the end of February 2030, although we see attempts by the West to prevent this by imposing sanctions against Rosatom," the ambassador said.
"The construction is proceeding strictly according to schedule. All four power units are currently under construction. The delivery and installation of equipment manufactured in Russia and some other countries has begun," Borisenko said.
