At the meeting with CAR Minister of Interior Michel Nicaise Nassin, Russian Ambassador to CAR Alexander Bikantov emphasized Russia's readiness to continue assisting the CAR in strengthening its national security, the Russian Embassy in the Central African country said.
Minister Nassin, for his part, expressed his gratitude for Russia's assistance and noted the importance of the Russian-Central African partnership, the embassy pointed out.
The meeting took place in a spirit of mutual understanding and openness, according to the statement.
Russian military specialists have trained over 900 officers and soldiers of the CAR armed forces over the past year, director of the Officers Union for International Security Alexander Ivanov told Russian media.
The successes of the Central African army, supported by Russian instructors, have raised the prestige of military service, leading to an increasing number of people wanting to join the CAR Armed Forces, Ivanov added.
