A ceasefire agreement on the Gaza Strip has been reached, and a joint statement will soon be issued, Egyptian broadcaster Al Qahera News reported on Wednesday, citing an informed Egyptian source.
"An agreement has been reached through the efforts of mediators that will end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza [...] A joint statement will be issued soon," the source said.
A delegation from the Palestinian movement Hamas has conveyed to mediators its consent to conclude an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an exchange of hostages, the Al Jazeera broadcaster reported on Wednesday, citing the movement's statement.
Earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office denied reports that Hamas had allegedly agreed to a proposed deal on the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.
