A contract on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to Cuba will be signed in the near future and will provide for the start of fuel deliveries, Cuban Ambassador to Russia Julio Antonio Garmendia Pena told Sputnik.
"The agreement on the supply of fuel to Cuba from Russia has already been inked, and a contract will be signed in the coming days that will allow for the start of deliveries," the ambassador said in an interview.
In November 2024, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that Russia was ready to supply 80,000 tonnes of diesel fuel worth $60 million to Cuba to help the Caribbean island nation deal with its post-hurricane energy crisis.
