Russia's FSB Says Prevented Terrorist Attacks Against Defense Ministry Official

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Wednesday, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that it had thwarted a terrorist attack in the Moscow Region. The attack was allegedly planned by the Ukrainian special services and targeted one of the leaders of a defense industry company affiliated with the Russian Defense Ministry.

The FSB said on Saturday that it has prevented terrorist attacks planned by Ukrainian security services against a senior Russian Defense Ministry official and a military blogger covering the special military operation.
"The Russian Federal Security Service has prevented terrorist attacks planned by Ukrainian special services against a senior serviceman of the Russian Defense Ministry and a military blogger covering the events of a special military operation," the statement said.
During the prevention of terrorist attacks, a Russian citizen, who was supervised by Ukrainian special services, was detained, the statement said, adding that the agent said he was instructed by Kiev to blow up a car with a Russian Defense Ministry official.
