Namibia's President Nangolo Mbumba has been honored with a National Award of the Order of Jose Marti by the Government of Cuba.
“Mbumba is the third Namibian President to receive this accolade after the Founding President Sam Nujoma, and the Late President Hage Geingob,” it read.
The Order of Jose Marti reflects the highest acknowledgment of accomplishments that go in line with Cuba’s revolutionary principles and global solidarity.
During his three-day official visit to that country, President Mbumba laid a wreath at the Monument of the National Hero, Jose Marti, and visited the Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Havana, among other engagements.
Mbumba returned to the country on Thursday.
