Egypt's Army Disrupts Criminal & Smuggling Activities: Country's Military Spokesperson

Egypt's armed forces disrupted criminal and smuggling activities threatening national security, Colonel Gharib Abdel-Hafiz Gharib, the country's military spokesperson, said.
Intensified patrols and searches by the Border Guard Forces at key locations, including crossings, tunnels, and roads, led to substantial drug seizures and the dismantling of hydroponic farms in North, Central, and South Sinai, according to the colonel.
Furthermore, joint operations resulted in the seizure of weapons and ammunition, the disruption of illegal gold mining, and the prevention of numerous cross-border migration attempts.
Egypt to Privatize at Least Four Military-Owned Companies
According to the Egyptian Armed Forces, the country's border guards will continue intensive efforts to secure the borders.
