Kenya opens up great opportunities for Russian wheat exporters, Ruslan Khasanov, head of the Federal Center for Assessment of Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products, told a Russian news outlet.
"Over the past few years, Russian wheat exports to Kenya have shown strong growth. Wheat export volumes in the 2022/23 agricultural year increased to 1.1 million tonnes, and in the 2023/24 agricultural year, it rose to 1.5 million tonnes. For the 2024/25 agricultural year, Russia has already exported 820,700 tonnes of wheat to Kenya," Khasanov said.
He added that Kenya remains a promising market for increasing Russian wheat exports. Overall, in the 2024/25 agricultural year, Kenya imported 2.6 million tonnes of grains from different countries, Khasanov noted.
