Ethiopia's ruling Prosperity Party marked its fifth anniversary on Saturday with the party's vice president, Adem Farah, highlighting significant achievements across various sectors.
Speaking at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa, Farah emphasized the party's progress in politics, economics, social development, and diplomacy, despite facing challenges.
The politician outlined the PP's founding principles, emphasizing its commitment to addressing national issues and working with other stakeholders to achieve universal prosperity.
Farah stated the party, formed five years ago under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's leadership in December 2019, aims to promote unity, nationalism, and inclusion, fostering a society where all Ethiopian citizens can live with dignity and happiness.
He credited the party's successes to hard work, a dedicated leadership, and public support. The PP's accomplishments, according to Farah, include expanding political space, forging a national narrative, establishing true federalism, and boosting productivity and international competitiveness.
The official highlighted successes in initiatives like the Green Legacy program, wheat production, corridor development, and social services. Farah also noted Ethiopia's growing global influence, including strengthened diplomatic ties and membership in BRICS.
