After the launch of Russia's new Oreshnik missile, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik's parent media group, published a compilation of her statements from various years, the West-Russia escalation.
Only a serious ultimatum could stop the West, Simonyan says in the video, predicting that the conflict in Ukraine would only worsen until such an ultimatum is delivered.
"Sooner or later we will have to say, our dear former friends, stop pretending that you are just helping Ukraine. You are waging a war against Russia with Ukraine's hands. This means that Russia admits that it is waging a war against you, with all the consequences and all the means at its disposal," Simonyan states, addressing the West.
She notes that the deployment of Western military assets on Ukrainian territory would culminate in a point where Russia would declare full-scale war in response to what it would perceive as direct foreign military involvement.
Earlier, outgoing US President Biden authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles against Russia, according to US media. Then, Kiev launched six such missiles at the Russian Bryansk region on November 18-19, according to the Russian MoD. Later, Russia's air defenses intercepted two British Storm Shadow missiles, the ministry stated.
