Benin will spend more than 118 billion CFA francs in fiscal year 2025 to improve the West African country's defense capabilities amid its ongoing fight against terrorism. This amount is 18% more than last year, according to the budget presented by Benin's Minister of National Defense, Fortunet Alain Nouati, to the budget committee of the Beninese parliament.
"The 2025 budget provides for an efficient administration at the service of a better protected, better trained, more battle-hardened soldier with the right equipment to carry out his mission of protecting the national territory," the minister said.
