At least 50 terrorists were eliminated in Nigeria during an ambush on a mission of security operatives, the press service of the Nigerian para-military agency said in a statement.
The attack on the convoy was organized by Boko Haram fighters; seven members of the country’s infrastructure security force are missing after the ambush, the press service of the Nigerian Civil Defense Corp, the statement read.
In operations last month, Nigerian forces reported eliminating 163 insurgents, detaining 82, and freeing 80 kidnapped individuals in the region, underscoring the ongoing security challenge in the northwest, according to media outlets.
