Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
According to Benjamin Netanyahu, there was trust between him and Galant in the first months of the current conflict in Gaza and they worked productively, but "in recent months, that trust [...] has cracked."
The prime minister noted that significant differences were discovered in his relationship with the defense minister over the leadership of the military campaign, which were accompanied by statements and actions that contradicted government decisions and cabinet decisions.
Netanyahu said he had decided to appoint Foreign Minister Israel Katz as defense minister.
He also said he had proposed Gideon Sa'ar, a minister without a portfolio, to take over as foreign minister.
