MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin received credentials from 28 newly arrived ambassadors of foreign states in Moscow.

The role and authority of the BRICS association in the world continue to strengthen, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
"The role of the association in international affairs and its authority continue to strengthen," Putin said during the ceremony of presenting credentials in the Kremlin.
Russia had been tasked with ensuring the smooth integration of new BRICS members, Putin added.

"We have been entrusted with a serious task to ensure the smooth and full integration of the new BRICS members who joined the association earlier this year. It should be noted that they really quickly and organically joined the common efforts, took an interested part in forums, put forward useful, promising ideas and initiatives," the Russian leader stated.

Putin added, "In fact, we were able to feel that BRICS cooperation, which is built on the basis of mutual respect and mandatory consideration of each other's interests, brings them concrete, tangible results."
He noted Russia advocates for the formation of a fair world order without illegitimate sanctions and restrictions.
