US Election Can't Change Much for Africa, BRICS Offers Hope for New World Order: Zimbabwean Expert

The US survives on military power and the subjugation of other people to its own rule and to their own whims, which do not correspond to the Global South countries' needs and aspirations, a Zimbabwean anti-sanctions activist said, stressing that in his experience, the results of the US presidential elections have never changed anything in Africa.

The US election will have little impact on Africa, but the BRICS bloc, supported by the nations seeking peace and justice, offers hope for a new world order, Executive Director of Citizens Against Economic Sanctions Martin Zharare told Sputnik Africa.

"The American election happening next week will not change much, unless to their [the US] puppets here in Africa, but to the generality of the population of Africa, it is still going to be the same thing," he said.

Washington does not contribute to Africa's development; its foreign policy is uncertain and inefficient; officials just talk about useless aid that actually impedes any development, the activist emphasized.
Moreover, when countries' leaders are not in line with the American system, they are overthrown, the speaker added, referring to Zimbabwe and Venezuela cases.
"Africa will never be stable when America is in charge because they will keep on unleashing wars," Zharare said, noting that the Global South countries urge the US to align with the blocs that promote secure peace for the world, like BRICS does.
Israel, Lebanon, and Syria are examples of the US-led conflicts, according to him.

"We are very grateful to the BRICS Summit that was celebrated in [Russia's] Kazan some few days ago. It is a testament to show the world that another new world order is coming that puts people first, not this tyranny of America and their leadership," Zharare noted.

Speaking about Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, the activist highlighted that even with the Western backing of Ukraine, Russia will be the winner because it protects justice and peace.

"America is fighting Russia. But Russia will defend itself and Russia will win. Russia is winning with the millions and billions of resources, military aid that is being sent to Ukraine. Everything is just coming to zero," he said.
