The presence of foreign mercenaries in the war against Russia is, first of all, an attempt to strengthen the Ukrainian army and an obligation of the West and the US to support the Ukrainian army against Russia, Ali-Shir Yazdani, an Iranian expert on international affairs, said in an interview with Sputnik.
Yazdani noted that earlier, when the Ukrainian army entered Russian territory in the Kursk region, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the US intervention in the attack on the Kursk region and the presence of American citizens participating in this operation.
"Naturally, the presence of foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian army will be prosecuted under the law of the Russian Federation, but it is obvious that the presence of these American mercenaries means the direct involvement of the US in the war with Russia," the expert stated.

Usually, mercenaries fighting on the territory of another country and for the army of another country are prone to commit cruel and heartless acts, and the situation of foreign mercenaries on the territory of Russia is no exception. As it turns out from the documents collected by Russia, these mercenaries come from the United States, Canada, and Poland, Ali-Shir Yazdani pointed out.
"Moscow has repeatedly resorted to all levels to convey to the United States that the intervention of American mercenaries in attacks on Russian territory is unacceptable," Yazdani said.
He concluded that this US intervention is seen as a dark spot of direct US intervention and will certainly entail serious consequences and will only lead to an expansion of the war.
