Bolivian President Luis Alberto Arce Catacora said he had arrived in the Russian city of Kazan for the BRICS Summit.
"We arrived in Kazan to take part in the 16th BRICS Summit with the task of consolidating the results in favor of the Bolivian people," he wrote on Telegram.
Earlier, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Russian President Vladimir Putin would hold a number of bilateral meetings in Kazan, including with Arce.
BRICS is an intergovernmental organization established in 2006. Russia's 2024 rotational presidency of BRICS began with the joining of new members. Adding to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia; the latter yet to formalize membership, although participating in BRICS meetings.
Russia's BRICS presidency focuses on strengthening multilateralism for fair global development and security. As part of its presidency, Russia is organizing more than 200 political, economic and social events.
