The entirety of Africa could one day become part of the BRICS club of the world's fastest growing economies to benefit from their innovative approaches, Roll Stephane Ngomat, head of the African Peace and Security Union, told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"We have already some countries from Africa who are members of the BRICS, such as South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt... And we want to expand the BRICS, so that why not the continent be part of, fully be part of BRICS, and also benefit from the know-how, from the technology and the knowledge, the innovation way of BRICS countries," Ngomat said on the sidelines of the ASIAEXPO 2024 agri-food expo in Russia.

The African countries are ready for cooperation with BRICS at the government-to-government as well as the public-to-private and business-to-business levels, he said, adding that Africa was open to such a partnership on condition that both sides benefited from it.
