Senegalese authorities deployed troops to the northeast to help evacuate residents and establish field camps following widespread flooding, Chadian media reported.

"I have instructed the Prime Minister, the government and the relevant ministries to draw up a plan to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster. Army units are setting up military hospitals to provide medical care to the population," Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye stated during his personal visit to the affected areas of his country, assuring the population of "continued solidarity."

8 billion West African francs ($13 million) will be allocated for immediate flood relief, including infrastructure repair and preventative measures to protect against future floods.
