World Bank Raises Forecast for Russia's GDP Growth in 2024 to 3.2%

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia's economy will grow in 2024 by 0.3 percentage points to 3.2% compared to the June estimate, and by 0.2 percentage points to 1.6% in 2025, the World Bank said in a statement.

The World Bank stated that Russian GDP growth will be 1.6% in 2025, and 1.1% in 2026. For comparison, in June, the bank's experts forecast Russian economic growth at 2.9% in 2024 and 1.4% in 2025.
"The expected sharp slowdown of growth in Russia in 2025 is likely to result in a slower pace of economic expansion for the region as a whole to 2.6 percent in 2025, from 3.3 percent in 2024," the statement added.
According to the forecast of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Russia's GDP will grow by 3.9% this year, and by 2.5% in 2025.

Earlier, according to RIA Novosti calculations based on the Bank of Russia data, the country's foreign debt-to-GDP ratio fell to a new all-time low of 14.5% at the end of the third quarter of 2024.
