Russia-Africa Partnership Grows, Fostering Bespoke Trade Solutions: Afreximbank Managing Director

The International Export Forum Made in Russia is the main Russian annual event for exporters and those planning to expand their business. This year's discussions focused on improving export indicators, creating a competitive, innovative economy, and expanding business in turbulent conditions. The Russia-Africa partnership is growing, and the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and African countries was achieved in collaboration with the Russian Export Center, which is also a shareholder and board member of the African Export-Import Bank, which enables tailor-made solutions to African trade issues, Afreximbank's Managing Director for Client Relations Eric Monchu Intong told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the International Export Forum Made in Russia held in Moscow.

"And that then defines the way our partnership with various Russian companies that are exporting equipment for local manufacturing in Africa, transferring technology to affect various sectors, also exporting a lot of other activities by way of grains, and so on and so forth to see where specifically they can partner with the continent," Intong noted.

Thanks to this extensive cooperation, Russian companies know the specifics of their customers in each African country and even have credit agreements with them, which allows for a focused, well-considered, and customized partnership, he added.
"I think it's [Russia-Africa relations] growing, and we are very, very happy with what we're achieving so far," the managing director concluded.
