Specialists from Russia's Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) have developed a stimulator that accelerates seed germination and promotes the development of a robust root system, positively impacting crop yields.
The product demonstrates high efficiency not only in open fields but also in greenhouse environments. Additionally, it is suitable for various crops, including grains, vegetables, berries, and ornamental plants.
"Tests have shown that the new regulators significantly increase the yield of spring wheat compared to the control. ... The maximum yield increase compared to the control was 8.4 – 12.9 centners per hectare, which corresponds to a yield increase of 41.2 – 63%," said Nina Gerasimova, a professor at YSTU.
According to the researchers, the development will not only lead to new agricultural records but also contribute to the country's food security. Thanks to the use of domestic raw materials and optimized production technology, the substance will be competitive on the global market.
The key characteristics of the growth regulators being developed are high efficiency, low cost of the preparation and processing per hectare, ease of preparation, low cost of raw materials, low toxicity, solubility in water, and a wide range of applications.
The next step is to bring the stimulant to market.
