China will unite joint efforts with African countries to promote open and fair modernization aimed at ensuring the interests of all involved parties, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated.
"We must jointly promote a modernization that is fair and equal, [...] open and win-win," he emphasized while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Ninth Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The Chinese leader specified that Beijing will cooperate with African countries "based on common rules, but taking into account national specifics." He noted that China is ready to share management experience with the region's countries and provide equal opportunities for joint development.
"Mutually beneficial cooperation is the 'sunny path' to more optimally ensuring the long-term and fundamental interests of all countries," Xi Jinping added. "China is ready to deepen cooperation with Africa in industry, agriculture, infrastructure, and trade and investment."
He stressed that China-African modernization should prioritize the interests of the broad masses and guarantee people's rights to freedom and development.
Moreover, the Chinese authorities will provide opportunities for training more than 60,000 people from African countries, mainly women and young people.
"In collaboration with the African side, China will more actively implement the cooperation plan 'Africa's Future - Vocational Education'," Xi said.
The Chinese leader specified that Beijing plans to jointly establish an Academy of Engineering Technologies with Africa, launch the "Cultural Silk Road" program, and initiate cooperation in innovation in radio, television, and audiovisual programs.
"The parties have agreed that 2026 will be declared the year of Sino-African interpersonal contacts," he added.
Furthermore, China plans to commence the implementation of projects in clean energy and carry out joint space programs with Africa.
"China is ready to implement 30 clean energy projects in Africa, create early warning meteorological systems, cooperate in disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as biodiversity conservation," the Chinese leader stated.
Xi Jinping specified that Beijing plans to jointly establish a forum for the peaceful use of nuclear technology with Africa, open 30 joint laboratories, and cooperate on satellites and Earth remote sensing. Furthermore, interaction in lunar and deep space exploration is expected.
"All this is aimed at assisting in Africa's green development," he emphasized.
