Ethiopia is undergoing a major transformation in its aviation sector, aiming to become a leading player in the global aviation landscape.
Speaking at the launching event on Tuesday, Transport and Logistics State Minister Dhenge Boru said the transformation program aims to address challenges like growing air transport demand, emerging technologies, and evolving regulations.
Boru stressed that his ministry is fully committed to supporting the program, recognizing its importance in establishing a world-class aviation industry in Ethiopia.
For his part, Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority Director-General Getachew Mengiste said that the transformation program includes key objectives such as enhancing global competitiveness, building resilience against future challenges, and keeping pace with emerging technologies.
According to him, it also aims to capitalize on Ethiopia's potential in areas like air transport development, maintenance, repair, and overhaul, airport development, and private sector investment.
Getachew urged stakeholders to actively participate and contribute to the program's success.
